1991 VOLVO 780 V6 COUPE BERTONE / €9500


Volvo has a long tradition of coupes like the P1800 or the 262C. 

For his new big coupe based on the family 740/760, Bertone is again requested. Unlike 262C, Bertone is in charge of design and manufacturing.

The main market of this car remains the United States, main consumers of large coupés.

Unveiled at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show, it will be produced from 1986 to 1990 with 9086 copies of which 70% will be destined for the American market. 
It is equipped with a complete equipment for the era including seats, mirrors and electric sunroof, air conditioning, ABS, on-board computer, high quality hi-fi, airbags …

Like the 740/760, the 780 is a propulsion equipped with the V6 PRV 2.8 liters of 167 hp (which will increase to 143 hp following the new antipollution standards). 
A 129-hp 2.4-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine is also available. It should be noted that this is one of the first large diesel coupes. 
The price is rather elitist with a base of 315,900 francs in 1987, in other words, the same price as a Mercedes-Benz 300 CE, 30,000 francs more than a BMW 628 CSI, and 5,000 francs more than a Jaguar XJS V12.

In 1988, the 780 received an independent rear suspension.

1990 saw the arrival of a 4-cylinder turbo 200 hp. This year is added as an option the differential lock. The model discreetly leaves the catalog the same year. On the reasons of the relative commercial failure of the 780, there was first the prices quite high (because of the manufacture by a specialist bodybuilder) and the lines a little too massive. Nuccio Bertone himself ironically defines the Volvo 780 as “a truck in a party dress”.

And yet, that’s all that makes her charming!

To replace the Jensen C-V8, the British manufacturer Jensen Motors is moving towards a solution external to the company. 

It entrusts the realization of the exterior design of the Interceptor to the Italian company Carrozzeria Touring and establishes a partnership with this company for the production of the bodywork. 
To fulfill its commitment, Carrozzeria Touring is getting closer to Carrozzeria Vignale to secure the contract. 
The delays grow and the quality does not follow, dissatisfied, Jensen finally repatriated the production of the Interceptor in England. 

For the engine, Jensen chooses a V8 from Chrysler to equip his car. 
Several versions delivering different powers will be offered for sale during the commercial life of the Interceptor.

The Mark II version is available for sale in October 1969, with a slightly revised style around headlights, grille, bumpers and taillights. The interior has been significantly upgraded to meet US regulations and the dashboard is redesigned. Air conditioning is optional.

There are several sales figures depending on the sources. According to Heon Stevenson, 6407 Jensen Interceptor and 320 Jensen FF were produced

The ad that caught our attention is this rare 1971 JENSEN INTERCEPTOR Mark II released in the United States. In very good condition of presentation with 60 000 km on the meter.

Burgundy color with a beige leather interior, it is equipped with a 330 HP V8 Chrysler, automatic transmission, power steering and disc brakes front and rear.

Free from corrosion with a straight frame, it is sold with its record book.

1991 MAZDA RX7 convertible (TYPE FC3S) / €9900


The RX-7 is a rotary engine (consisting of two rotors giving it the distinction of having a small displacement while having a certain power) produced by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda. It is a model of car that will evolve over time and several versions of it will emerge. Thus will successively be born the SA22C, the FB3S, then the FC3S, and finally the FD3S.

1985 ALPINA B7 TURBO 300HP (BMW E28) /€39000


Alpina will produce the B7 Turbo from April 1984 to July 1987 (236 copies in 300hp and 42 copies in 320hp). Equipped with the original M30 to which Alpina added a Turbo KKK K27 to reach a power of 300hp and 320hp from 1986.

Like any car tuner, Alpina added 16-inch wheels and specific seats, a front and rear spoiler, gold trim on the sides of the car, an Alpina logo on the front grille and rear. 
Lowered by 3cm, it also receives specific running gear to improve handling.

The Ad that caught our attention is therefore this very rare BMW ALPINA B7 TURBO of 300 HP with 236 copies (73/236) 
put into circulation in March 1985 showing 127 000 km certified.

1989 MERCEDES 190 E 2.5-16 EVOLUTION / €89900


The Mercedes-Benz Type 201, designed by car designer Bruno Sacco and nicknamed  Baby-Benz , is an entry-level sedan marketed from 1982 to 1993. 

Available as Mercedes-Benz 190, it will be the first family car German manufacturer. With more than 1.8 million units, this makes it one of the most successful Mercedes-Benz models. It has been designed to appeal to a younger audience than the one targeted by existing models. Indeed, the study of the model’s aerodynamics make it an economic and sporting vehicle for the time. 

In addition, the safety has not been left out since the 190 can be equipped with ABS, airbag, and the structure of the body has been studied in order to preserve the occupants inside the vehicle.

1988 Shooting Brake HONDA ACCORD AERODECK 2.0 EXI FIRST HAND /4500 €


Since 1976, eight generations of Honda Accord have succeeded each other.

Between 1985 and 1989, the third generation of the Accord was marketed in Japan and Europe in 1985 and in the rest of the world in 1986. This model has an attractive design, looking similar to the second generation. The differences are in the front retractable headlights (like a Toyota Sprinter Trueno), original for a sedan, but also specific tail lights. A version with fixed headlights appeared in 1987 for the European and Japanese markets.

This Accord is the first Honda to use a dual-wishbone suspension system at the front and rear – a technology subsequently used on the 1988 Civic and Prelude and the 1990 Integra – although more expensive than the MacPherson system, this device provides better stability and handling of the vehicle. Standard Accord is equipped with anti-roll bar. Dual-piston front and rear disc brakes (Japanese Si model) or single-piston front and rear disc brakes or single-piston front disc brakes and rear drum brakes are available as options. ABS is available as an option on models equipped with disc brakes, but not for the North American market.

The tuning is available with different engines:

  • In Japan: A18A, A20A, B18A, B20A and A20A3 (from the United States).
  • In Europe: A16A1, A20A1, A20A2, A20A3, A20A4 and B20A2, B20A8.
  • In the United States and Canada: A20A1, and A20A3, BS / BS1, BT / BT1.

  • the power of the injection engine is increased to 120  hp .

The ad that caught our attention is this very rare Honda Accord Aerodeck manual gearbox released on November 11, 1988. Rare for its small production only in Europe and Japan but also because it is a first hand !

With 183,800 km, this Honda accord aerodeck 2.0 exi of 122hp is light gray metal with a gray velvet interior. 

Equipped with a series of Recaro seats, power steering, power windows, electric mirrors and an electric sunroof, all in perfect working order!
